FFA Board

In addition to Chairman, Frank Lowy, the Board of Football Federation Australia is overseeing Australia's bid for the 2018-2022 FIFA World Cup.

Brian Schwartz AM, Deputy Chairman

Brian Schwartz is Chairman of Australia’s largest insurance company, Insurance Australia Group (IAG) Limited, as well as a director of Brambles Limited and the Westfield Group.

 

Until March 2009, he was Chief Executive of Investec Bank (Australia) Limited and was

previously a Partner of Ernst & Young Australia, becoming its Chief Executive in 1998.

Brian was appointed to the FFA Board in September 2003 and is also Chairman of the Audit Committee.

 

He was awarded an AM in 2004 for service to business and commerce, and the community through a range of sporting, educational, cultural and charitable organisations.

 

Moya Dodd

 

Moya Dodd is a Partner with law firm Gilbert and Tobin and a member of the firm's Competition and Regulation group.  She was previously Vice President of CRA International and headed up Fairfax Media Group's new media business. 

 

Moya is a former vice captain of the Australian women’s team, the Matildas, with an international football career spanning from 1986-1995.  She is a Vice-President of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and chairs the AFC’s Legal Committee.

 

Les Owen

 

Les Owen was the Group Chief Executive of AXA Asia Pacific Holdings Limited for six years until September 2006. He was previously the Chief Executive of AXA Sun Life plc in the UK and was a member of the Global AXA Group Executive Board.

 

From 2002 to 2007, Les was also a member of the Australian Treasurer’s Financial Sector Advisory Committee, and is currently a non-executive director of Computershare and Discovery Holdings.

 

Jack Reilly

     

Jack Reillly was previously the Managing Director of Group Holdings Ltd and Chairman of the Council of Authorised Money Market Dealers. He was Deputy Secretary of the Victorian Treasury and Director of Victorian Funds Management Corporation Ltd, State Trustees Ltd and the Urban and Regional Land Corporation.

  

Jack was goalkeeper of the legendary 1974 FIFA World Cup Socceroos squad, with 35 international caps, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004.  His club career included clubs in Scotland, the USA and Australia including 41 games with the former national soccer league from 1977 to 1980.

 

Ron Walker AC CBE

 

Ron Walker has been a prominent businessman in Australia for more than 30 years and was Lord Mayor of Melbourne from 1974 to 1976. Ron was founder and Chairman of one of Australia’s largest private chemical companies between 1963 and 1976, was co-founder, director and major shareholder of Hudson Conway Limited and co-founder of Crown Casino Limited. He is Chairman of Fairfax Media Limited and Chairman of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation.

 

Ron was awarded a CBE in 1976 for services to local government, and an AC in 1987 for services to the community.

 

Philip Wolanski, AM

 

Philip Wolanski is the Managing Director of DW & Co Pty Ltd, a property development and investment company. He was a director of the National Institute of Dramatic Art from 2001 to 2007 and has served on the Sydney Opera House Trust Library Committee for a number of years.

 

He was awarded an AM in 2008 for service to the community and philanthropic contributions to a range of arts, sporting and cultural organisations.  Phil is a lifelong and passionate fan of the game, and has been Head of Delegation for the Socceroos since 2004.
