A Team Base Camp describes where each team participating in the FIFA World Cup will stay and train for the duration of the tournament - their 'home away from home'. For the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Australia chose the Wald and Schloss hotel, and trained five minutes away at the Otto-Meister Stadium. Different national teams will have different needs. Some like to be near a city, some prefer isolation, so let us know your suggestion and you may just see a team staying there in 2018 or 2022!

The Masion and Spa at Werribee Park, in outer Western Melbourne would be an ideal spot for teams to relax, with large grounds and next to the Werribee Open Range Zoo and Equestrian Park. It is 25 mins to Melb CBD and 40 mins to Tullamarine.

As it will be winter.. somewhere north of Sydney -- Perhaps Port Macquarie or Coffs Harbour, which have excellent playing facilities, airports and a relaxed, seaside atmosphere.

Thinking outside the square here, and don't really know a good hotel but dubbo would probably be away from all the hype. you'd need to do some serious work on a training facility but there is plenty of room out there for that down by the river
