What is a visa 457?

In simple words, the visa 457 is an Australian document that gives direct approval to skilled Australian or overseas individuals to enter Australia and be capable of applying to jobs without too many restrictions or visits to special departments of documentation, it was a great document that was very popular around the world since Australia is a fantastic country to live and work, but there is something wrong with this visa… It was replaced not too long ago in 2017 due to multiple criticisms with the pass of the years and also for the fact that the replacement offered better benefits to the ones who received it.

Replacement of Visa 457:

In 2017, Australian authorities decided to replace the old visa 457 with two brand new categories of visa, being the first of them a short them visa which receives the name of Temporary Skill Shortage visa (or visa 482) which grants the capacity of immigration but in exchange, the individual needs to prove their skill in English in an official exam and obtain a base score of minimum points. The other replacement it’s a medium-term visa, and there is nothing new to say about it since is technically the same visa 457 but with some minor changes on the process that could change with the pass of time.
